Day 01: Monday, July 02, 2012

Oooooh man.  One month’s worth of clothes DOES NOT fit into a suitcase…just so you know. The day started with Becca and I frantically finishing our packing (in between a quick Target run, stop at the bank, Office Depot errand, and Chick-fil-a breakfast of course).  Every so often one of us would yell to the other about how all our stuff wouldn’t fit until finally we got it together.  My friend, Dave, who happened to be coming through Raleigh on Monday, was oh-so-kind to let us jump in the car with him to start off our adventure.

Finally Dave, Becca and I (and our new friend Vennie) hit the open road…for about five minutes.  Then we stopped at Bojangle’s for lunch.  It had to be done.

Ok, then we for real hit the open road with a stop in Atlanta for the Coldplay concert.  This concert was unreal!  Hands down the most fun and the coolest show I’ve ever been to.  Everyone there was handed a wristband at the door that were programmed LED lights. During the show, the wristbands lit up around Philips Arena in sync with the music and it. was. awesome.

Naturally, the next thing we had to do was eat, so we stopped in Hapeville, GA to find a place to eat. Just so happens, Hapeville is the home of the original Chick-fil-a and just so happens, it was open (even at 10:45pm).  AND this Chick-fil-a had crushed ice. That had Jesus written all over it.  It was great.

From there we headed on the Auburn, AL where we stayed for the next two night with two of our very favorite people on the planet – Alex and Dave (thank you two again!) and of course, their roommate Mike whom was so close to being on that favorite person list until he let us know that he likes cats and knows nothing of Harry Potter. (Just kidding  - we love Mike too.)
