It wouldn't be a girls road trip if we didn't do a little shopping.  I mean, we did some more site seeing as well but there was definitely shopping mixed in there.  We started things off by walking through the French Quarter district.  The architecture there is beautiful and it all surrounds an area called Jackson Square.  This is essentially a gorgeous gated park that sits in front of St. Louis Cathedral - the oldest cathedral in the US.

From there we walked down Decatur Street buying things like postcards, magnets, gifts for family and friends and of course a thing or two for ourselves (One guess what I bought...that's right - earrings.)

We grabbed lunch at The Market Cafe in the middle of the French Quarter where we sat outside and enjoyed a live jazz band.  I almost felt like a NOLA native.

After a few more stops we headed back to the good ol' Corolla to start making our way to Houston, Texas.  Naturally we stopped for a snack and a break before we got there so we made sure to stop off in Baton Rouge, LA.  We didn't really see much there except for the Chick-fil-a where we got our snack and my first ever Hobby Lobby experience.

Finally we arrived in Houston (again after driving through rain - at least it rains when we travel and not while we are exploring) and checked into our hotel. Then we started the adventure of trying to find an open restaurant to eat at within walking distance...25 minutes, a trek across a resort lawn and 3 closed restaurants later we needed up right back directly beside our hotel at a little place called Smashburger.
